Please introduce yourself briefly: Who are you and how did you come to iSYS?

Hello, my name is Tom and I do a lot of sport in my spare time. In summer, I usually go mountain biking in different variations, in winter I can be found on touring skis. I came to iSYS as part of my studies, at some point you have to do an internship – the practical semester has to be completed. Since then, I’ve felt quite at home here. At the beginning, Munich was of course quite big compared to Regensburg, but you quickly get used to it. The best thing about Munich is that it’s so close to the mountains, you can always be in the countryside.

What are your tasks at iSYS?

My area of responsibility at iSYS consists of a lot of creative freedom. Since this year, it has been DevOps topics in the cloud with Kubernetes. Before that, it was setting up and maintaining the test and build infrastructure with older technologies, if possible via automation. There were also various topics in the area of quality assurance.

What excites you most about your job?

The freedom to organise, you can assign and carry out topics yourself within the framework, provided that corresponding deadlines and allocations in the team are adhered to.

What can new team members expect when they join iSYS?

A friendly team and flat hierarchies, the door to the boss is almost always open. There are also office dogs.
