Meet The Team: Marlène

Marlène | 29 years old | Software developer in the IFCO team

Please introduce yourself briefly: Who are you and how did you come to iSYS?

Hi, I’m Marlène. I was born in Munich, but my parents come from France and Iran. Accordingly, I speak German and French, unfortunately I never learnt Persian. I studied biology and later switched to computer science. I came to iSYS through my lovely friend Agathe. I met her at vocational school when we were doing our apprenticeships at the same time.

What are your tasks at iSYS?

I work in the IFCO environment. I’m currently in the Operations team, which means a lot of monitoring. We are the first point of contact if something goes wrong with the software, for example if there are any bugs.

What excites you most about your job?

What fascinates me most about programming is talking to the computer. Knowing how to tell the computer exactly what you want it to do beyond the normal layman. What I also really like is researching and finding out why something isn’t working as it should. It’s often very head-scratching and frustrating, but once you’ve found the fault and fixed it, it makes you feel like it’s worth all the effort!

What can new team members expect when they join iSYS?

A nice family that welcomes you with open arms 😊 I don’t know all the iSYS members yet, but the ones I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know personally are very correct and lovely people!

And finally: What do you do in your free time?

I like listening to techno 😀 and I also enjoy going out partying. I also like to play games. The last game I played through with my heart and soul is Bloodborn! Highly recommended but not for the faint-hearted :D. Otherwise I like to make my own cosmetics. What I always try to make myself is my deodorant!
