Alexa | 20 years old | Working student marketing

Please introduce yourself briefly: Who are you and how did you come to iSYS?

I’m originally from Leipzig and moved to Passau 1 ½ years ago for my Bachelor’s degree in Journalism and Strategic Communication. I knew for a long time that I wanted to do something with media in the future. I’ve always enjoyed writing and working with the camera. During my studies, I gained a lot of insight into journalism, but I also wanted to develop my skills in PR and marketing. That’s why I decided to support the marketing team at iSYS.

What are your tasks at iSYS?

Many different ones. As part of the marketing team, I have the task of reporting on ongoing projects, collaborations and successes to increase the reach of iSYS. To do this, we write blog posts, but are also active on social media and networks such as LinkedIn to publicise iSYS.

What excites you most about your job?

I was always told during my studies that you have to choose between journalism and public relations when choosing a career. The nice thing about this job is that that’s not the case here. I can report journalistically in the blog posts, while learning about marketing strategies in another project. The combination of both makes the work very varied, which is great fun.

What can new team members expect when they join iSYS?

Lots of lovely people who pop into her office to say hello. You immediately feel welcome. The office doors are usually open and you can always ask someone if you have any questions. A lot of emphasis is placed on making you feel comfortable. You learn quickly through various projects.

What do you do in your free time?

I love to let off steam creatively. I’ve been singing in the choir since the first grade and have been playing the guitar since I was 13. I’ve been in a band for six months and started dancing again after corona. My favourite way to spend the afternoons is with my friends at the Inn, Passau’s meeting place. Oh, and I also like answering Alexa jokes and am happy every time I hear a new one.

And finally, would you like to share a playlist with us?
