For more gender diversity in IT: iSYS supports Starcode e.V.

The IT sector is one of the fastest growing industries in the world. Nevertheless, women make up only 22% of computer science students in Germany. The non-profit organisation Starcode now wants to change this with its diverse range of programmes.
What does Starcode do?
Starcode offers free programming courses for girls and women from the 5th grade onwards to introduce them to the diverse possibilities and opportunities of computer science. As part of an open and inspiring community, the association aims to arouse interest in relevant degree programmes. Together, the aim is to ensure more gender diversity in the IT sector.
The Starcode team is made up of students from a wide range of disciplines and study locations in and outside Germany. It is supported by the expertise of experienced board members from the IT sector.
Starcode currently offers courses in Munich, Berlin and Augsburg. There are also numerous online courses that can be attended from all over the world.

How is Starcode supported by iSYS?
We want to help Starcode get more girls and young women interested in IT. For this reason, we supported Starcode at the beginning of December 2023 with a donation of EUR 1,500. In addition, we are making our meeting rooms and our technical expertise available free of charge.
In concrete terms, this means that Starcode can use our conference rooms for training courses and workshops at any time. In addition, it is planned that our employees will support the Starcode team both in the management of courses and in the development and conceptualisation of learning content and materials.
