Child and career – no problem at iSYS

In the course of their career, many employees wonder to what extent starting a family could harm their professional career. Daniela shows that any worries are unfounded. She has been working at iSYS for over 10 years and is Head of Finance & Administration. After a year on parental leave, she returned to her position as Team Leader without any problems.

Daniela completed an apprenticeship as an office management assistant at iSYS after graduating from high school and was immediately offered a permanent position. She quickly became head of administration and coordinated important tasks over the years, such as liaising with our customers. A few years ago, she went on parental leave. When she returned to work, she was able to decide for herself when and with what workload she wanted to return.

Return to working life

“After my parental leave, I got my old position back straight away, even though a lot of new people were hired during that time. I was very happy that I was given this trust,’ she says.

Nevertheless, there was still a challenge. As there are hardly any free nursery places in Munich, Daniela struggled to find a childcare place for her child. Here, too, iSYS was able to take the pressure off her. The first priority was to find a childcare place. Only then did Daniela decide on a fixed start date. ‘That took a huge amount of pressure off me,’ she says.

The compatibility of child and career

At iSYS, around 60 per cent of employees combine family and career. That’s why we attach great importance to finding individually tailored solutions. Daniela also emphasises this.

“I quickly realised that iSYS attaches great importance to how you are doing. They try to respond to your personal situation and find solutions.”

It has now been four years since she returned to work. Since then, Daniela has been back in charge of administration and is now training her own apprentices. She has kept her job and her position despite her parental leave.
