iSYS receives BSFZ Seal of Approval for Research and Development
Funding for Our AI Research from 2025 to 2027
The funded research project is titled “Development of a Modular AI Hub for the Secure, Scalable, and Quality-Assured Use of Generative AI on Heterogeneous Corporate Data.”
Our research and development work at the iSYS AI Hub has been recognized as eligible for funding by the Research Tax Credit Certification Authority (BSFZ). This recognition is valid for the period from 2025 to 2027 and confirms the research nature of our work on the secure, scalable, and quality-assured use of generative AI in businesses.
iSYS AI Hub: Secure AI for Enterprise Data
With the AI Hub, we are developing far more than just another AI application. We are creating a central, adaptive platform that connects internal, self-hosted AI models with external, high-performance AI services and intelligently manages their use. The AI Hub is designed to assess which data and requests require protection, which permissions apply, and what model performance is needed—and to determine the appropriate processing path based on this information.
Sensitive or restricted content remains strictly within the controlled infrastructure. For complex tasks where external models offer added value, we are exploring methods for data minimization, pseudonymization, anonymization, and abstraction so that we can leverage powerful external AI without relinquishing data sovereignty. External partial results should then be securely reintegrated into the internal business, RAG, and authorization contexts.
The core of this innovation thus lies in the combination of permission-sensitive RAG, dynamic model selection, hybrid internal and external processing, secure data transfer, quality assessment, and monitoring. This creates a technological foundation that enables generative AI to be integrated into existing enterprise environments in a controlled, traceable, and productive manner.
For us, the BSFZ seal is therefore more than just a formal recognition. It underscores our commitment not only to deploy generative AI, but also to actively advance its safe and productive use through technological innovation. This is precisely where we see a central aspect of our technical excellence: thinking through new technologies in such a way that they result in robust, integrable, and practical solutions for businesses.
What is the BSFZ seal?
The BSFZ seal is awarded by the Research Tax Credit Certification Office. It is granted exclusively to companies whose research and development activities have been confirmed by the BSFZ as eligible for funding under the Research Tax Credit Act.
The seal publicly demonstrates this commitment to research and development and serves as proof of a company’s innovative capabilities.
