iSYS is a sponsor of SoCraTes 2022

iSYS is once again sponsoring this year's ‘11th International Conference for Software Craft and Testing’, SoCraTes for short. The non-profit conference brings together software developers and testers from all over the world every year. The aim is to promote an exchange of ideas at eye level and a joint learning process.

Software craftmanship views software development as a craft that can be broken down into many sub-areas and learnt with the support of other ‘software craftspeople’. The aim of this development is to create well-defined software that constantly generates value for the customer and requires little technical debt. The software is created by a community of professionals and views the customer relationship as a productive partnership.

The principle of ‘open space’ is central to this. The topics that are addressed during the conference are not predetermined, but are left to the participants themselves. Anyone can put topics on the agenda that they would like to learn about, discuss or teach. The topics are then dealt with in the form of discussion rounds, workshops and short presentations. The attendees therefore design the programme themselves. The evening programme is also designed to allow participants to get to know each other and network, with activities such as joint hiking excursions and dinners.

A special feature this year is the ‘Foundations Day’ at the beginning of the conference. Unlike the following days, this day has a pre-prepared agenda. The purpose of the day is to teach beginners and interested parties the basics of software development and testing so that they can participate in the discussions and workshops on the following days with a similar level of knowledge.

This year’s conference will take place from 25 to 28 August at the Hotel Park in Soltau. Around 200 participants are expected to attend. Thomas Sandl will be there as a representative of iSYS. He works at iSYS as a DevOps Engineer in the Kubernetes environment for a customer. If you have any questions about the conference, please contact him directly(info@isys.de).

We are delighted to be able to support the exchange of software developers and testers from all over the world again this year.
