Development of data management software in the field of genetic engineering work and work with biological agents. The legal requirements for records in accordance with the Genetic Engineering Act (GenTG), Biological Substances Ordinance (BioStoffV), Infection Protection Act (IfSG) and Animal Disease Pathogen Ordinance (TierSeuchErV) must be mapped in BIDS. In addition, other related information must be managed in BIDS, including the documentation of instructions and inspections, including defect tracking.

The challenge

The legal requirements for records in accordance with the Genetic Engineering Act (GenTG), Biological Substances Ordinance (BioStoffV), Infection Protection Act (IfSG) and Animal Disease Pathogen Ordinance (TierSeuchErV) must be mapped in BIDS. In addition, other related information must be managed in BIDS, including the documentation of instructions and inspections, including defect tracking.

Three instances of BIDS must be maintained for each client (productive, demo and training version). The data in the BIDS training version must be entered automatically, individually and independently by each client (e.g. using an executable script or similar) and it must be possible to clean it up again after the training courses have been completed.

The solution

Take legal requirements into account
Implementation of a comprehensive compliance module in BIDS that records and logs all necessary legal requirements and automatically checks for updates.
Provision of additional information
Integration of a comprehensive document management system in BIDS, which enables the management and documentation of all relevant information and ensures a seamless link to legal requirements.
Maintenance of multiple instances
Development of a client management system in BIDS that enables simple administration and separation of the various instances. In addition, implementation of an automated data import and cleansing mechanism for the training version to ensure efficient administration and updating.
