The challenge

To strengthen the future viability and efficiency of its corporate planning, Hama sought to introduce a software-based solution. The aim was to systematically digitise planning processes – particularly in sales (planned turnover) – and integrate them seamlessly into the existing BI infrastructure. Instead of introducing a separate planning system, the solution was to be based on the already established Qlik Sense platform.

The solution

Projektphase 1 – Proof of Concept (PoC)
In the first phase of the project, a proof of concept (PoC) was implemented in collaboration with Hama to evaluate the functional and technical suitability of the Inphinity Suite for corporate planning. The focus was on KAM and regional planning as practical application examples. The aim was to implement specific requirements from sales controlling in order to check at an early stage whether the solution delivers real added value – not only technically, but also in particular in terms of functionality. The decision to build on the existing Qlik Sense platform enabled seamless integration into Hama’s BI landscape and significantly reduced training costs. The PoC already showed that the Inphinity Suite offers a high degree of flexibility in mapping complex planning logic. Business users were able to plan directly in Qlik Sense, which avoids media breaks and ensures a consistent database. By realistically mapping a specific scenario, key requirements could be validated, initial processes mapped and important insights gained for the further rollout – a true proof of value.
Project phase 2 – Production launch
Building on the findings from the successful proof of concept, the second phase of the project is currently being actively implemented. The aim is to transfer the structures and processes developed in the PoC to the system landscape of Hama GmbH & Co KG and make them productive. As part of the go-live, the final technical implementation, the connection of relevant data sources and the setup of user-friendly interfaces are currently being realised. At the same time, targeted training measures are being prepared to ensure a smooth transition to operational use. A key added value of this phase is that the manual collection and consolidation of planning figures via email, Excel, etc. is completely eliminated. Instead, a centralised, integrated planning and forecasting environment is being created directly within the existing BI platform. This ensures greater transparency, consistency and significantly reduced coordination efforts – and thus creates a robust basis for sound decisions throughout the company.
